Build a loft bed in the shape of a knight's castle

If you want to offer your child something special that no other child in their circle of friends has, then build them a loft bed in the form of a knight's castle. Because all his friends and classmates will be amazed at a loft bed that looks like a knight's castle.

  1. First screw the square timber 1000 x 50 x 50 mm onto the 1300 mm long sides of the blockboard boards 1010 x 1300 x 19 mm with the cordless screwdriver. The square timbers must be flush on a 1010 mm long side. Use the 60 mm Phillips screws.
  2. Screw the blockboard boards 2050 x 1300 x 19 mm flush to the boards with the square timbers so that you get a frame that has the dimensions 2050 x 1048 x 1300 mm.
  3. Position the frame so that the square timbers that are screwed on are flush with the floor. Place the square timbers 2000 x 50 x 50 mm from the inside on the top surfaces of the square timbers 1000 x 50 x 50 mm and screw them down with cross-head screws 60 mm.

  6. Give your knight's castle loft bed the finishing touch

  1. Place the roll-up grille in the loft bed and screw it to the square timber 2000 x 50 x 50 mm using 60 mm recessed head screws.
  2. Since a knight's castle has a drawbridge, your loft bed naturally also needs one. To do this, paint the blockboard 800 x 550 x 19 mm with brown lacquer and screw the piano hinge to one of the long edges.
  3. Screw the second side of the piano hinge to the center of the head side of the loft bed at a height of 850 mm.
  4. In the head of the drawbridge board, turn a screw hook at a distance of 50 mm from the front edge. 500 mm above the board, turn the screw hooks into the head wall of the loft bed at the same width. Hang the chains in the screwed-on board and in the loft bed. Your knight's castle loft bed even has its own desk.
  5. Secure the drawbridge board from falling with a twist-lock bolt.
  6. Now screw the square pieces of wood 400 x 50 x 50 mm onto one long side of the loft bed so that your child can use this as a step.
