What do the dimensions refer to?

  • The skateboard is originally from the USA, so the dimensions are all given in inches. One inch is 2.54 cm.
  • Just as we divide the centimeter into millimeters, the inch is eighth. If the measure is not a whole number, the confusing addition / 8 is often given. For example, the 7.5 inch length could be noted as 7.5 / 8 ".
  • In the case of the opacity, the first number stands for the width, the second for the length. The length is usually between 28 "and 33".
  • The distance between the axles is called "Wheelbase" and is between 12 "and 15". The closer the axes are to each other, the more agile the skateboard, but the more it tends to roll.

Which skateboard is right for me?

  • When choosing the deck, the most important thing is what you want to do with it. A narrower deck (up to 7.75 ") is easier to flip and is therefore popular with street and park skaters. In the halfpipe, on the other hand, a wide standing area is more important because of the higher speed.

  • A narrow skateboard is therefore more nimble and unstable than a wide one, which reacts rather slowly and offers more support.
  • Another factor is height. For smaller people, sizes between 7.3 "and 7.5" are ideal. For children under 1.30 m tall, a board between 6.5 "and 7.5" should be chosen.
  • Narrower and shorter boards are of course a bit lighter and therefore more comfortable for young legs. However, tall and sporty people would find little support on it.

So try out as many different sizes as possible in the store to see which deck you feel most comfortable on.
