Pouring the foundation for a fence

If you own a garden and don't want everyone to go into it, you need to fence it in. However, if you are tackling this, you will also need a foundation for this fence.

In order to achieve good stability, it is not enough to simply ram the posts into the ground. Only a solid foundation can provide stability here. You should also use metal rods that are coated with plastic, as these are protected from the weather and do not have to be replaced later, as is the case with wood. When it comes to the foundation for your fence, you have two options for attaching it.

Leave the formwork in the foundation for the fence

  1. You must first dig a trench the length of the fence with a width of 15 cm and a depth of also 15 cm.
  2. When you have done this, insert your shuttering boards on the side so that they are flush with the ground.
  3. You should fix these against each other after every meter with a suitable wooden stick.
  4. After that, hammer your metal bars for the fence into the ground at regular intervals. Make sure that the height is even.
  5. Build the foundation for the tool shed yourself this is how you proceed

If you have a large garden, you will also have plenty of garden tools. …

  6. Now fill the trench with gravel to a height of 5 cm and possibly compact it with a heavy construction hammer or a wooden board to which you have attached a stick.
  7. Now stir the precast concrete as instructed and fill your trench with it. Make sure that you remove the wooden sticks while pouring.
  8. After everything has dried well, you have completed your foundation and can fix your fence.

Remove the formwork from the foundation again

  1. If you want to remove the formwork after pouring the foundation, proceed exactly as described above. However, once the formwork is in place, you must cover it with plastic sheeting.
  2. So it is possible that you can pull the shuttering boards out again after drying.
  3. You then have to fill the resulting gap with earth again and fasten it.
