Prepare the puff pastry

  • There is a possibility that you make the puff pastry yourself. This is of course very time-consuming and not suitable when things have to be done quickly.
  • For emergencies like yours, there is ready-made puff pastry. You can always have this in stock in your freezer.
  • Then just take the pack out of the freezer, unpack it and place the slices individually on the worktop.

Bake apple pockets with puff pastry

  1. While the puff pastry sheets are thawing, you can peel the apples, remove the core and cut thin slices. Then add the raisins, sugar and cinnamon and mix it together.
  2. Now cut the puff pastry sheets once in the middle.
  3. Pour approx. Place a full tablespoon in the center of a sheet of puff pastry.
  4. Now put the puff pastry sheet together as a triangle or rectangle and press the edges together firmly with a fork.
  5. Now spread the egg yolk on the puff pastry pockets with a food brush and sprinkle sugar on them very thinly.
  6. Then place these apple pockets, which you bake with puff pastry, on a baking sheet, on which you either put baking paper or simply put it with you water wet.
  7. Now these apple pockets are covered with puff pastry for approx. 30 to 40 min. baked at 220 degrees.
  8. Make sure that the oven has been preheated.
  9. After the finished apple pockets have cooled down, coat them thinly with melted butter and then sprinkle them with a little powdered sugar.
