How do head lice develop?

Tips to prevent head lice

- When you know that head lice have returned, wash your hair daily with a shampoo to which you add two to three drops of tea tree essential oil. Head lice don't like this smell. You can also massage one or two drops of the tea tree essential oil into the scalp with your fingertips every day. This also keeps the pests away.
- Get a shampoo that contains willow bark extract. The little beasts don't like this either. A shampoo with coconut oil is also recommended.
- Use water with a dash of apple cider vinegar as a rinse. Vinegar changes the pH, which prevents the head lice from settling.
- Boil yourself a walnut tree stock and rinse your hair with it. Preferably after every wash. This keeps the beasts away.
- If you know that head lice are happening again in your area, don't swap hats and headbands.
