Websites are designed very differently and the viewing habits of users are different. It is therefore a good thing that you can set the font display yourself on the computer. For websites that you have come across Google reach, the fonts are often determined and firmly fixed by the web designer. However, you can change the font size quickly using the browser's zoom function.

Change the Google font size in the browser

At the Internet Explorer click on the gear symbol in the top right corner, on Google Chrome on the wrench symbol. In both cases, a menu opens in which you can find the zoom function. In the Explorer you can choose between 50 and 400 percent for the display of the web pages. With Google Chrome, the values are between 25 and 500 percent.

The Mozilla Firefox browser has accommodated the zoom function in the "Views" menu. You can find this in the navigation bar above. You are even faster with keyboard shortcuts. If you want to see Google search results larger, press “Ctrl” and “+” to zoom in and “Ctrl” and “-” to zoom out.

If you press the plus or minus button several times, the display increases or decreases in several steps. This works with Google as well as with other websites and in different browsers.

Recognize the coding of web pages

There are sometimes websites on the Internet that do not display various characters (letters, special characters and numbers) correctly. For example, you will see small boxes instead of the correct characters. Then it may be that the set coding does not match the font on this page. You can fix the error in Google Chrome via the wrench menu.

Change the design of the Google homepage - this is how it works with Chrome

If you want a personalized homepage on Google Chrome, that's not ...

There you will find the selection "Tools" and "Coding". The selection "Western European (ISO-8859-1)" should be selected by default. Change this selection to "Detect automatically". As a rule, the browser recognizes the coding suitable for the website itself.

Change the font of web pages in the Chrome browser

You can set the desired standard size for the font on the website via the menu in Google Chrome. The “Settings” submenu takes you to a tab where you can click “Show advanced settings” at the bottom. The font sizes for the most frequently used fonts can be set here for web content. To do this, use the buttons under "Web content".

The Arial font is widely used on the Internet. For this you can preset a certain font size, i.e. smaller or larger, as you want it. This also works for the frequent web fonts "Times New Roman", "Sans Serif" or "Curier New" as well as for many others. However, if the web designer has programmed fonts for his site, you have no influence on this.

Under the web content of the Google Chrome menu you will find the "Adjust font" button next to the font size. Open it and you will see your default font. If you would like to integrate a different font, open the drop-down menu with the arrow and select a new font. Google and search results will now be displayed in the font you want.

So for Google you can change the font and font size. With many websites you can only influence the size. However, this is often enough to be able to read and recognize texts better. If you are unsure about the legibility of the individual fonts, you are always well advised with the straightforward Arial type.
