The GTI W12-650 is only available once
The Golf GTI W12-650 is a custom-made product from Volkswagen based on an ordinary Golf 5 GTI. The car was made especially for the traditional VW- Meeting at the Wörthersee constructed.
- The vehicle has a 6.0-liter twelve-cylinder which, thanks to a turbocharger, has 650 hp on all four bikes brings. Of the engine can also be found in the VW Phaeton or the Audi A8, but there with less power and without turbocharging. A special feature: due to the lack of space in the engine compartment, the twelve-cylinder sits in the front.
- Another special feature of the car is the body kit, which makes the vehicle look extremely beefy and strong. The exhaust system also ends in four tailpipes. The interior of the Über-GTI has also been completely rebuilt, only a few parts are still like the original.
The price is difficult to quantify
- It would certainly be nice for many VW and especially GTI fans if the W12-650 could be bought - but it is not for sale. Inquiries to Volkswagen to build a small series of the vehicle for well-heeled customers also fell on deaf ears at VW.
- The exact price is unknown, and VW remains silent on this issue as well. However, the development and construction will have cost several hundred thousand euros, as many parts had to be redesigned. If the car were offered for sale by VW, collectors would probably pay up to one million euros due to the exclusivity.

Alternatives to over-golf
- Since the Golf GTI W12-650 will remain a dream for all VW fans, you should ask around for affordable alternatives. The Golf 5 R32 has at least half as many cylinders and cubic capacity as the W12-650, which brings 250 hp, including street legal.
- By the way, you don't have to worry too much about the price of a Golf 5 GTI or R32. These vehicles are now available for between 10,000 and 15,000 euros - in good condition. (As of 06/2013)
