Explore Hogwarts in Minecraft

Download Hogwarts map

There are quite a number of Minecraft- Cards that allow a visit to Hogwarts. One of the most developed is the map of the group "Das Team Oyla". This offers more than 4,000 rooms and was created in around 200 hours of manual work.

1. If you want to use this Hogwarts card, you can get it via the Group website download.
2. Visit the download area there and select the sub-item "Hogwarts". On the page that opens you will find different versions of the map. In order to be able to experience the castle in all its glory, you should opt for the latest one.
3. The download link will take you to a filehoster where you can download the Hogwarts map for free. Since the file is slightly larger than 40 megabytes, this can take a few minutes.

Insert map in Minecraft and play

The downloaded Hogwarts map cannot be played immediately. Instead, you have to unzip them first and then paste them into Minecraft.

1. To do this, open the downloaded file with an unzipper such as WinZIP and extract the contents to a location of your choice. If a password is required, you can find it out on the developer's website in the download area.
2. Now open via the key combination "Windows-Key + R "the Windows console. Enter the command "% appdata%" (without quotation marks) and look for the Minecraft subfolder in the folder that opens. Here you will find another subdirectory called "saves".
3. Switch back to the unzipped card and copy the contents of the folder into the saves directory.
4. This means that the Hogwarts map is implemented in Minecraft and appears in the map selection after starting the game.

A note to conclude: the castle is nowhere near the starting point. As in the novels and films, you have to follow the train tracks to get to Hogwarts.
