Cut the nativity scene for Christmas

Since you want to make a Christmas crib out of construction paper, you should make sure that you have enough construction paper in the house. Use light brown construction paper if possible, since you are looking for a crib wood want to recreate. You should also have a tube of paper glue before you start your handicrafts.

  • First you make the base plate for your crib. Take a sheet of construction paper and fold it three times and glue it.
  • Folding is necessary so that your crib has the necessary stability for Christmas. Do the same as with the base plate, now with the two side parts, first fold them, then glue them together.
  • After the two side pieces are glued together, draw the pattern of a small bed frame on the side pieces. That means, one longitudinal strut at the top and one at the bottom, then some struts that connect the two longitudinal struts.
  • After you've done this for each side, take a sharp craft knife and cut the two side pieces to size.

Glue the side parts to the base plate

  • Now that you have made the individual parts of the crib for Christmas, you only have to glue the side parts to the two longest sides of the base plate made of construction paper.
  • After you have glued the side panels on, you should hold them in place until the glue has dried and the side panels are firm. You can then make small feet for your nativity scene.
  • Take small pieces of the construction paper and crumple four small balls out of the paper. Then glue a small ball under each corner of the base plate of your crib.

Try to use the glue sparingly.
