Deactivate "sent from" on Facebook
If you do not want to reveal your current location on Facebook, you can deactivate this. To do this, you have to change the settings for the display "sent from".
Deactivate "Sent from" on the computer
- Open the text box to enter a post and enter the text you want.
- Now you can change the location by pressing the second button from the left directly below the field. Type in your location or choose one from the list that appears.
- If you have already specified a place, you can delete it with the small cross in the right corner. The "sent from" is no longer displayed.
- If you want to use the function again, then type in the desired location in the field provided below the text field before the next status change. This location will then automatically appear again in your posts until you deactivate it again.

If you own a phone that uses the Android operating system, you need to do something different. Go to the main menu of the Facebook app. Select "Settings" here.
- Now look for the menu item "Messenger Location Services". Now deactivate these services.
- From now on, your posts will no longer be automatically assigned locations unless you reactivate this service.
