Except for the so-called sleek look, it is not particularly nice when the hair hangs down flat. Certainly you can achieve an improvement with special care products that bring more volume to your hair. However, you can increase the effect with the right blow dryer technique.

If your hair tend to hang flat and lack volume, you may need to swap out your hair products. Many rinses, so-called conditioners, but also shampoos and hair treatments weigh down the hair so much that it hangs flat shortly after blow-drying. Better to switch to special products that give the hair more volume and use a few tricks when blow-drying.

More volume in the hair - that's how it works

  • If you are used to letting your hair air dry, you now need to rethink and get a blow dryer with an additional cold air button. Only with proper blow-drying can you actually get volume in your hair and the hair doesn't hang flat as quickly.
  • After washing, you can let your hair dry for a few minutes under a towel, which you wrap into a turban. However, do not wait too long to blow-dry, otherwise you will flatten the roots with the towel.
  • Then, distribute the hair mousse through your hair, comb it through, and use your fingertips to loosen the hair from the scalp. Then set the blow dryer to medium temperature and blow dry your hair overhead. In particular, focus on drying the hairlines and scalp.
  • Then lift your head with a powerful swing. Please be careful not to bump yourself anywhere! Using a wide-toothed comb, pull the parting in the right place and gently comb your hair into shape.

  • The paddle brush is used next. Wherever you want additional volume, pull a wider section of hair upwards away from the hairline with the help of the brush and blow warm air towards the scalp. Be careful not to set the hair dryer too hot to avoid getting burned. As soon as the hairline is dry, press the cold air button on the hairdryer and blow cold air into the same area again until the hair has cooled down again. Only then do you remove the brush from the strand of hair. Work your way up piece by piece until the desired volume is achieved.
