Conversation with the headmaster
In most cases, talking to the school principal is rather uncomfortable. With a few tips, however, you can optimally prepare yourself for this important conversation.

- At the beginning, parents and students should clarify why they were invited to an interview with the school principal. Announcing a reprimand, for example, requires a different approach than talking about a positive matter.
- As a parent, you should of course also ask your child for their opinion. If the subject of the conversation is negative, clarify all the details with your child.
- It can be helpful to take notes while talking to your child. These will help you to keep a clear overview of the situation.
- Parents as well as students should form their own opinion about the subject of the conversation. This opinion should then be made clear to the headmaster. Make some notes about this as well.
- Also, try to find a solution or a compromise to the problem in advance, if possible.
- Also, think in advance about your behavior during the conversation with the headmaster. Remember: Always be polite and friendly to the headmaster. Do not interrupt or be loud during the conversation.
