• The burner is operated with heating oil or gas. These fossil fuels are mixed with air in the boiler's combustion chamber and burned. The resulting heat heats the water in the boiler.
• The water in the boiler can also be heated electrically or with wood or wood pellets. The type of energy used depends on the homeowner's preferences.

What should be set for such a heater

• With central heating, the water temperature in the boiler can be regulated. On average, this is 70 degrees Celsius.
• However, the so-called flow temperature must also be set. This is the temperature at which the water flows through the radiators. The flow temperature should be a little higher during the winter months than in summer. This increases the heating output.
• With underfloor heating, the flow temperature should not be set higher than 30 degrees Celsius. Otherwise it could get uncomfortably hot on your feet. In addition, excessively high temperatures can damage the heating pipes.

Modern central heating systems are usually equipped with an outside temperature sensor. On the basis of the measured data, an automatic system regulates the required boiler and flow temperature, which increases comfort.
