When and how should the daytime running lights be used?

The daytime running lights are installed in the newer vehicles of the Opel Corsa D model series. The slightly older vehicles of this model, on the other hand, do not yet have such a special light as standard.

• In Germany, there has not yet been a general obligation for drivers to have their lights on during the day as well. In contrast to the parking lights, the low beam and the headlights, the daytime running lights cannot be operated manually.

• So it is important to know that this special light can neither be switched on nor off, but lights up automatically every time you drive. The brightness of the surroundings is irrelevant, so the light is switched on both in bright sunshine and at night.

• It is very important to note that these new lights are significantly less bright than, for example, the "normal" low beam. Therefore, after a certain amount of darkness or in poor weather and visibility conditions, the dipped headlights must still be switched on.

Is it possible to retrofit older Opel Corsa D models?

• If you do not yet have a new model of the Opel Corsa D with daytime running lights, you can have your "old" vehicle from this model series retrofitted on request. In this context, however, you should use the costs Note, because material and installation costs are not cheap.
