  • Electronic electricity meters are not quite as vulnerable to super magnets, especially since most meters have a housing made of a material that does not have a magnet. However, since a magnet can in principle influence storage media that work via magnetism, you should not attach anything to these meters with a magnet.

Dealing with super magnets

  • As a rule, the effect of a magnetic field decreases with increasing distance. So if you have a super magnet, the only way to avoid damage is to keep it at an appropriate distance from electronic devices and electricity meters.
  • Don't overdo it if you just want to stick something with magnets. You don't need super magnets to attach a few pieces of paper to the refrigerator to staple. It is therefore not necessary for extremely strong magnets to be openly accessible.
