Before the Facebook-Link comes the fansite

First of all, you need a Facebook fan page in order to be able to link it to your own homepage.

  1. To do this, scroll all the way down on your Facebook page and you will find the item "Create page". Click on this link and you will get to the fan page design.
  2. First select a suitable category for the topic of your fan page.
  3. Assign a name for your fan page. Ideally, this is identical to your homepage or your hobby.

Now integrate the fan page on the homepage

Once you have created your fan page, you can integrate it into your homepage using the "Like" button in a comment box or something similar. To do this, proceed as follows:

  1. Scroll the page all the way down and click the "Developer" link. Next, select the "Web" button. The further path leads via "Facebook for Websites" to "Adding social features with plugins". There you activate the link "See all Social Plugins". Now you will get a list of the possibilities to create a link to Facebook on your homepage.
  2. Decide on the plugin you want, for example a like box.
  3. Now enter the URL of your Facebook fan page and adjust the size and color of the box according to your wishes.
  4. Finally you have to press the "Get Code" button. Now you have several variants to integrate the script code into your homepage. Copy the appropriate code.
  5. Put this in the HTML code of your own homepage.
  6. Upload the finished HTML page to your web server.
  7. The like box is now visible on your own homepage. Here you can click on the "Like" button, read the current status reports and switch to the Facebook fan page via a link.
