How to open a PART file
- There is the "Free Download Manager" program for safely stopping and resuming downloads. This allows you to determine the exact timing of data transfers. You can also finish downloading data that was not previously delivered due to an interruption. A Converter helps you download files without ads.
- The most common PART files can be extracted with the "WIN-RAR" program. To do this, select the task item "Specify unpacking location" in the "File" button menu. Confirm the "unzip" command.
- Most download programs contain several PART files. After the complete download, you can only open and play them under a new file name. To do this, go to "Extra" in the folder options. There the function "Hide extension for known file types" appears under "View". Usually there is a tick in front of the task field. Remove this.
- Now rewrite the endings of all file names. Designations such as PART1, PART2 etc. are useful. Add the ending .rar to the new names. Then all fragments can be unpacked without any problems. After this Unzip you have access to every PART file.
- If the PART file is a fragment of a Videos, it can be opened with the media program "VLC-Player". The player will automatically ask you which file you want to open. Enter the full PART name. The player program will open it automatically.
