Privacy is also important to many people on the Internet and for this reason some browser programs offer a so-called incognito mode. Do you surf privately or anonymous, so you don't leave any traces and nothing is recorded. You no longer have to worry about the history or the cache.

The incognito mode allows you to surf privately

  • You can use incognito mode for example at Google Activate Chrome directly and do not need to install an additional extension. Other browser providers, such as Mozilla's Firefox or Microsoft's Internet Explorer, also offer you anonymous surfing and thus give you a little more privacy.
  • Google Chrome offers you this useful function in two different ways. You can start the incognito mode not only from the menu, but also from a new tab. At the Internet Explorer you will find the important function in the settings under "InPrivate Browsing".
  • In Mozilla's Firefox, too, you have to start this mode via the menu (orange button). The function there is called "Start private mode". If you want to surf the Internet in peace and quiet and no one should be able to see exactly where you were later, all you have to do is activate the private function. Each time the browser is closed, the history and cache are automatically deleted and you don't have to worry about anything.

Important information about the history of the Internet browser

  • A browser history is created for every Internet browser, unless you prohibit this by setting. This contains all the Internet pages that you have recently visited.
  • Can someone else be at your computer and sign up under yours Account log in, then he immediately sees which Internet pages you have been to exactly. This can be very embarrassing, especially in an office.

The private mode, or "incognito mode", enables you to use ...

  • To cover your tracks, you would have to clear your browser's cache and history after each surfing. This is very cumbersome and also takes some time.
  • With the incognito mode, which you can easily activate and use in many Internet browsers, this is no longer necessary. You and your activities remain anonymous in any case.
