VIDEO: origami with money

If you have money origami fold, make sure that the bill is not too stiff. Your banknote should be as flexible as possible, especially for these instructions, which require a lot of little tricks.

An elephant with origami

Depending on whether you fold your paper or your money towards or away from you, the fold lines are referred to as valleys and mountains.

  1. Lay the bill across in front of you. Fold a valley line that bisects the bill lengthways and one that bisects the bill crossways. Unfold the bill again.
  2. Now fold the two corners towards you on one short side. Then fold the two outer edges over the corners so that your banknote looks like the basic model of a paper airplane.
  3. Bend the resulting point towards you at the point where the two diagonal lines of the point meet.
  4. Origami piggy - instructions

Origami pigs are cute to look at and, with a little practice, easy to ...

  5. Now fold the side of the bill that is not the point back and back again. A mountain line is created. Do the same thing about a finger's breadth away from the tip next to it. Then a valley line is folded directly outside of the two mountain lines. It creates a raised tunnel that runs vertically through your bill.

Now you need a sure instinct:

  1. Bend the four corners of the tunnel towards you. Then pull down the top edge of this paper airplane-like structure and press it into place. The gaps that appear on the edges of the banknote determine the length of your elephant's legs.
  2. The large point that you folded at the beginning is now put back so that it is on the left. The tunnel is still coming towards you.
  3. Fold the large point, which will become the trunk, in front of you over the banknote and back in the middle of the tunnel. To the right of the tunnel, fold the outer right edge of the bill towards you.
  4. Turn your expectant elephant over so you can see the back of the bill. The trunk is still on the left. Fold a mountain line a little to the left in front of the front leg.
  5. Now your entire origami elephant is bent in the longitudinal direction of the banknote. The result is a straight back line and four legs.
  6. Fold a slightly sloping, vertical mountain line at the root of the trunk and press the head against it. The elephant is now looking up a little.
  7. Bend the trunk behind the head of the elephant and back a little further towards the tip of the trunk. Finally, the trunk is bent backwards again so that it points downwards.

Modeling further subtleties on the trunk is practically impossible with euro notes because they are too stiff.
