How to install a sensor faucet

Make sure you only buy a sensor tap that complies with European standards, then installing a tap with a sensor is no problem.

  1. Under the sink there are two corner valves, one for cold water (right) and one for warm water (left). Turn the taps on both valves all the way to the right so that no water can escape. Check this by turning on the tap.
  2. Then loosen the two union nuts with an open-end wrench and pull out the two connection hoses.
  3. If you look under the sink from below, you will see a threaded rod with a screw on it. You have to turn this off the rod and pull the tap out of the hole in the sink.
  4. Remove the pressure hoses from your old faucet. If there is no pressure hose installed on the sensor tap, connect it to it. Most of the time, the hose is already installed.
  5. Mount the eccentric and the washbasin - this is how it works

  6. Now put the sensor tap into the hole in the sink and push the connection hose through the hole. Now fasten the new faucet that contains the sensor with the screw.
  7. Sensor taps are only available for cold water or also for hot water. If you have bought a sensor tap for cold water only, the connection hose is inserted into the opening of the right angle valve and the nut screwed back on. Now you can open the right corner valve, the left one remains closed.
  8. If you have a sensor tap for cold and warm water, you have to attach it to the sink in the same way. But the pressure hose is connected to the supplied mixing valve together with the control cable.
  9. You attach this mixing valve to the wall under the washbasin and connect it to the corner valves with 2 pressure hoses. Be careful not to confuse cold and hot water and turn the angle valves back on.
  10. Test the connections for leaks and insert or remove the batteries. remove the protective film that is stuck between the batteries and the contact.

Incidentally, a sensor tap is usually sufficient for cold water, because the warm water only comes on after a few minutes Tap arrives and the sensor tap turns off the water after a second if no one puts their hands under the water holds. It is a waste of water and makes little sense to put your hands in cold water until warm water comes out.
