• Paper is the ideal material for a hollow design if you only want to tinker a small Empire State Building. You can make a bigger one if you have cardboard, wood or use cap plates. An Empire State Building that you make out of wood can even serve as a lamp.

How to tinker the skyscraper

• If you want to cut out the Empire State Building from styrofoam, all you need to do is have photos of the same scale from all 4 sides. You need to cut a styrofoam block so that you can glue these photos exactly to transfer the silhouettes. Then cut out the contours with a sharp knife. The rest is done with acrylic paints. In order to get the most exact detail possible, transfer the windows and all details from the photos to the Empire State Building made of Styrofoam or stick the pictures on permanently.
