Edding on the skin
Receiving a love letter is nice. Sometimes this is written directly on the bare skin with a marker pen. What is perhaps meant romantically will stick for a long time. Read here how you can remove Edding from your skin.
What you need:
- Oil-based detergents or
- olive oil
- dry cloth
- water
- soap
How to get Edding off your skin
Edding is an ethanolic solution of organic dyes and binders. The EC safety data sheet recommends the use of cleaning agents and no solvents such as nail polish remover or hairspray to remove this permanent marker ink.
- To start with, you should use the skin first clean thoroughly with soap and water. Then pat the area to be treated dry well so that the oil can be well absorbed into the skin.
- Apply the olive oil to the skin. Rub it lightly with your fingers. Leave it for approx. Work for 10 minutes. Of course, you can also use any other commercially available oil or baby oil.
- Take a dry cloth and rub the area clean. Then wash the skin again with soap and water.
- If you use a cleaning agent, follow the instructions for use or the leaflet. Also rinse all residues completely off the skin after use.
- If the Edding has not disappeared, repeat this procedure several times. It may take some time for the paint to completely separate from the skin.
- In the case of particularly stubborn marks, you can also use scouring milk, Ata or a pumice stone, depending on your skin tolerance.
- When using a pumice stone, the skin should be "soaked" well beforehand. We recommend an approx. 10 minute hand bath in a mild soap solution. When the skin is a little softened, using the pumice stone is no longer as painful. In the hand bath, rub the stained area gently up and down with the pumice stone. Watch to see if there is any success.
