Citizens' insurance with the AOK
Citizens' insurance has been hotly debated for several months. This model is, so to speak, a nationalization or Standardization of health insurance companies, such as the AOK.
Citizens' insurance - nationalization of health insurance companies
- In Germany, the model of separate health insurance - the so-called two-class insurance - has so far existed. Either one insures oneself with a statutory health insurance, like the AOK, or the higher earners with one of the many private health insurances.
- A citizen insurance should now ensure that more income in the statutory Health insurance flows and benefits to the insured continue to be in full can be guaranteed.
- If the SPD demands that all citizens - regardless of their income - should contribute to the Health system Afford.
- It is still unclear in what form the citizens' insurance should take place. The goal is this insurance to be introduced in Germany by 2013.
Support AOK and Co. with contributions and achieve equal treatment
- There is still inequality in the German health system. Although the German health system is one of the best of all, there is a two-class society here. Privately insured people get appointments with specialists faster and are treated better than those with statutory health insurance.
- Citizens' insurance would end this unequal treatment. Then those with statutory health insurance - be it with the AOK, the IKK or one of the other health insurance companies - are treated in the same way as privately insured persons.
- Privately insured persons also benefit from it. With this insurance for citizens, you are automatically protected against horrific contributions from private health insurance and excessive medical bills are avoided.
- The next few months will show whether this insurance model will prevail.
