Most water-rich river on earth
Rivers have been the lifelines of civilizations since time immemorial. The longest river on earth is the Nile. But it is not the richest river on earth. The Nile does not play a significant role in the top 3 list of the world's most water-rich rivers.
1. The Amazon Ucayali - the richest river on earth, the second longest river on earth
At 180,000 cubic meters per second, the Amazon Ucayali is by far the most water-rich river on earth. It brings more water than the next seven smaller rivers together. The Amazon is formed in the Andes from the coming source rivers Marañón, Huallaga and Ucayal and is located in northern South America.
2. Congo - the second richest river in the world and the second longest river in Africa
The Congo is only the second longest river in Africa after the Nile, but with a water volume of 42,000 cubic meters per second it exceeds the Nile (2,800 m³ / s) by far. It rises as Lualaba in the south of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the southern foothills of the Mitumba Mountains and then flows through the Congo Basin into the Atlantic.
3. Yangtze River - the longest river in Asia and the third richest river in the world
At 31,000 cubic meters per second, the Yangtze River is number 3 in the list of the best. After the Nile and the Amazon, it is also the third longest river in the world. The river has its source in Tanggula Shan in the Chinese province of Qinghai. It then flows 6,380 kilometers, 2,800 kilometers of which are navigable, across China before flowing into the Pacific.
