Should an ice cream machine be added because you would like to make ice cream or sorbets yourself, you might ask yourself. That doesn't have to be the case, because you can easily make sorbets yourself without the help of a machine.

Ingredients:

  • 400 g strawberries
  • 150 grams of sugar
  • 150 ml of water
  • 3 tbsp lemon or lime juice
  • 250 ml of champagne
  • 250 ml white wine (dry)

How to prepare sorbets without an ice cream machine

  1. Put two bowls in the freezer. This is used for pre-cooling. The bowls can be made of glass or stainless steel. Plastic bowls are not suitable. This preparation of sorbet without an ice cream machine is a bit more laborious than with an ice cream machine and requires quick preparation, but the result is no less convincing.
  2. Since you chill or cool the strawberries when you prepare sorbets. freezing, it is not necessary to use fresh strawberries. So you can also use frozen strawberries. Thaw them out. It is not necessary that they are at room temperature. You can process them cold very well.
  3. Prepare sugar syrup. To do this, dissolve 150 g of sugar in 150 ml of water. Stir well until the sugar has completely dissolved in the water. If you want to prepare sugar syrup in advance, you should use boiled water.
  4. Cut the strawberries into quarters. Take a bowl out of the freezer (it should be nice and cold). In this bowl, mix the strawberry quarters with the sugar syrup and the lemon or Lime juice. Puree your raw sorbet mass with a hand blender. Do not puree too fine.
  5. Then pour the white wine onto your raw sorbet mixture. Stir it in briefly.

  7. Then pour in the champagne. So that it stays nice and pearly, you should proceed very slowly and let it flow into the sorbet mass at the edge of the bowl. Then mix it carefully with the sorbet mixture.
  8. Now get the second bowl out of the freezer. Put your sorbet mixture in the hopefully nice and cool bowl. Put the first bowl back in the freezer.
  9. Puree the sorbet mixture again. Put the bowl back in the freezer. Leave them there for approx. Get cold for 15 minutes and your sorbet has been made without an ice machine.

Instead of strawberries, you can also use raspberries or other fruits. If you want to prepare a slightly less alcoholic variant of your sorbets, you can mix the champagne with fruit juice or also water substitute.
