Prepare the stuffed tomatoes in a baking dish. The following vegetarian recipe is a main course for four people:

  5. Carefully hollow out the tomatoes with a spoon. You will have to chop the released pulp later.
  6. Now put the hollowed out tomatoes in your baking dish. Skin and chop two onions, cut about 20 pitted olives (black preferably) into very small pieces and press or mash one or two, depending on your taste Garlic cloves.
  7. Mix the chopped tomatoes, onions, olives and garlic with the cooked rice.

Delicious and vegetarian - gratinated vegetables

It works without it rice - fill your tomatoes with a vegetable mixture. This recipe is for a side dish and should fill four people:

  1. Wash four large tomatoes and cut off the lid. Remove the pulp and chop it up.
  2. Put the tomatoes in a greased baking dish. Wash one green and one yellow pepper - cut them into small pieces.
  3. Skin and dice two onions and add them - as well as the chopped pulp of the tomatoes - to the pepper pieces.
  4. Mash or squeeze one or two cloves of garlic and add them to the other vegetables.
  5. Chop up some fresh herbs and add these as well.
  6. Cut 200 grams of sheep or feta cheese into small cubes. Take about a third of the cheese cubes and mix them with the vegetables. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
  7. Then it goes into the tomatoes. Fill the fruit and sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top.
  8. Put the lid on - brush with a little olive oil - and put in the oven.
  9. Turn the temperature up to 210 degrees Celsius and give the tomatoes 35 to 40 minutes to cook.

All "non-vegetarians" can change this recipe. It tastes great when you enrich the vegetable mix with anchovies or tuna. Minced meat also fits perfectly into a filled tomato. Vegetarian or not, stuffed tomatoes are always a good idea!
