Paint cans belong in the hazardous waste. Under no circumstances should you dispose of paint cans with household waste. Lacquer cans that have an organic seal also belong in the hazardous waste. It is the same with paints in cans that are made on a water basis.

- empty tin can
- Disposable gloves
- Newsprint
How to properly dispose of paint cans for spraying
- Spray cans with paint must be completely emptied before you can dispose of the paint cans in the hazardous waste.
- To get the paint residue out of the spray can, it is best to use it on the balcony or in the garden.
- Take an empty tin can and put on disposable gloves.
- Line a table or the floor with newspaper.
- Put the tin on the table.
- Shake the spray paint can vigorously.
- Hold the tin at a slight angle.
- Make sure that you hold the paint can upright. This is the only way to ensure that you can spray all paint residues out of the paint can.
- Now hold the spray head directly in the can and hold the spray head of the paint spray can down until only gas comes out of the spray head of the paint can.
- Shake the paint can now vigorously and then spray the remains from the paint can into the tin.
- Spray cans with lacquer that have been emptied in this way can now be disposed of in the packaging waste (yellow sack).
