Mankind has been looking for a good substitute for the fattening sugar for a long time. Too much sugar is also very unhealthy. Chemical sweetener is not the right solution for everyone. Stevia, a plant-based sugar substitute, is now on the market. But where do you get it?

Stevia is used as a sweetener and is obtained from the "Stevia rebaudiana" plant. Stevia has been approved on the European food market since December 2011 and serves as a substitute for sugar or chemical sweeteners. Since stevia has hardly any calories, many people use this organic sugar substitute. Others, on the other hand, complain about the bitter aftertaste that is sometimes noticeable.
2. In the past, stevia was only available in health food stores
Before stevia became really known, it was mainly found in health food stores. Health food stores have long offered various alternatives to conventional sugar, such as birch sugar. So if you have a health food store around the corner, you can buy stevia there. Stevia is available in health food stores in tablet form, as a liquid extract and as a powder.
3. Now you can get the product in the supermarket
Since a market has been found for stevia, it is now also available in most of the larger supermarkets. Here, however, the product is often only offered as a liquid extract or in powder form. You will also find products here, e.g. B. Sweets that contain stevia instead of sugar and therefore hardly any calories.
4. Find what you are looking for on the Internet
