Euro pallets as a mattress topper

Euro pallets are intended for the transport of goods, but once they have finished their service life, they do not automatically become useless. Due to their stability and durability, Euro pallets are ideal as a substructure for a bed.

1. First of all, get enough Euro pallets for the bed construction. The dimensions of a Euro pallet are 1.20 meters x 0.8 meters. So you could fit a 2 x 0.8 meter mattress on two Euro pallets. If it is to be a double bed, however, you need at least 4 pallets.
2. For a finished bed, all you have to do is put the pallets together and place the mattress on them.

Ideas for embellishing the bed

In this case, however, "finished" does not necessarily mean "beautiful". With a few tricks you can make the bed out of Euro pallets even more attractive.

• The simplest means is that wood to be coated with clear varnish. This also serves to protect against stains. If you were to leave the Euro pallets completely untreated, unsightly dark spots will inevitably form over time, which is why painting is almost indispensable.
• If a double bed is built, the pallet frame is inevitably a bit too big on all sides. If you have enough time and patience, you can cut the individual pallets to fit. Alternatively, you can use the open space as a bedside table replacement. It would also be conceivable that you put a bookshelf or something similar on it.
• If you don't like the rustic look of the pallets, you can cover them with fabric. If you line the protruding edges with foam at the same time, the edge of the bed becomes a seat.

These are just a few ideas how you could spice up the bed out of Euro pallets. With a little imagination and skill, you can build an inexpensive and completely unique piece of furniture.
