You may face different situations when laying the laminate, each of which is this The problem arises that the new laminate floor and the floor of the adjacent room have different heights to have. Transition bars won't do everything, but you can overcome many problems with two-piece transition bars.
- Situation 1: The floor on which the laminate will lie is slightly lower than the floor of the adjoining room. In that case the laminate will automatically compensate for the difference. In order for it to fit exactly, you may have to leave out insulation material on the threshold or lay a little more. In this case, you can simply screw transition strips over the laminate and the neighboring floor.
- Situation 2: The floor on which you want to lay the laminate is already higher than the one in the next room. In this case you can only consciously set a level. Lasts are of no use if you have to compensate for more than 1 cm.
- Situation 3: The floor on which you are laying the laminate is the same height as the floor in the adjoining room. So there is an edge when you lay the laminate. Since laminate with the insulation is slightly over 1 cm thick, you will always get a small edge. You can also avoid the hard transition with a suitable triangular profile.

This is the perfect way to attach transition strips
- If you are using two-part transition strips, screw their lower part into the door opening so that the middle part exactly represents the extension of the wall at the door hinge.
- Now lay the laminate from both sides by viewing the middle parts of the transition strips as a "wall" and approaching them in the same way as you would a wall.
- Then click the top part onto that middle part and you have a smooth transition.
