Replace the tile without damaging it

What you need:
- Boring machine
- Milling attachment
- hammer

- Masking tape
- tile glue
- spatula
- Cross spacers
- Rubber mallet
- Grout
- Spirit level
When a tile floor is damaged, it is usually the case that only a few Tiles are affected. Here it is then necessary to replace this individual tile in order to restore the previous state. However, if you want to change a single tile without damaging the other tiles, you also need the right tools.
The preparation for replacement without damage
- There is a special diamond milling head for your drill that is suitable for this work. You can obtain this from specialist retailers. Mount this on your drill.
- Now carefully mill the joint of the damaged tile. Then carefully remove the damaged tile using a hammer and chisel.
- After that, the floor must be freed from all old adhesive residues. This can be done very well with a spatula. You can now replace your tile without damaging it.
Putting a new tile in place
- Now apply the glue to the free space on the floor. Take the tile and insert it. You can now adjust your tile using spacers that you cut to size beforehand. This should then be carefully tapped with a rubber mallet. Check the evenness with the rest of the floor using a spirit level.
- When the glue has dried, mask the adjacent tiles with masking tape. You can now re-pointing. So you could change your tile without damaging the intact tiles.
