How to look after your oak parquet

  • You should only vacuum new parquet for as long as possible with a suitable floor brush. If you do this maintenance on a daily basis, usually no dirt particles can cause major damage.
  • Bear in mind that oiled and stained oak quickly darkens from water droplets stains developed. Therefore, you should only wipe your parquet with a well-wrung, damp cloth if it is absolutely necessary.
  • You should never clean an oak parquet with a microfiber cloth, especially not if your parquet is varnished. because microfiber cloths with their stable hair act like graters that dig themselves into the surface and so on to damage. Always use a cotton cloth to wipe your oak parquet with a damp cloth.
  • If your parquet is older and you are annoyed by stains, it is advisable to ask a retailer for a suitable cleaning agent for oak parquet. But don't forget to distinguish whether you are looking at an oiled, waxed or lacquered oak floor.
  • Care with a suitable agent goes beyond normal maintenance care, because it should not be used all the time.
