How do you draw beer properly?

Germany is the country of beer drinkers. Almost nowhere else in the world is so much beer drunk as here. Because nothing beats a cold, freshly tapped beer from the barrel. But how do you actually tap the beer properly?

Correct use of the beer does not only happen when the beer is being drawn, but starts before that - with the right selection of the right beer glass. For example, wheat beer is filled in a wheat glass, Pils in a Pils glass and there are other glasses for a light beer. This has to do with the amount of oxygen that should reach the drink in order to refine the taste.

After you have chosen the right glass, you have to put it under cold for a few seconds water keep. This removes even small dust particles, but above all you get a refreshing and cool beer on tap.

This is the right way to tap beer

  1. The dispensing process now begins. It is important that you always hold the beer glass as inclined as possible, just so that the beer no longer flows out. So you start out at an extremely slanting angle and the more beer there is in the glass, the more you tilt the glass into an increasingly straight position. This guarantees that the beer does not foam too much - a popular beginner's mistake when it comes to how to draw beer.
  2. Don't worry about not having enough foam. No matter how you do it, there should normally always be a little foam. If it is actually not enough, all you have to do at the end is push the tap from which you are drawing the beer towards the back, i.e. away from you. Now pure foam comes out of the dispenser.
  3. If you still have problems with the foam after a while, it may also be due to the flow rate of the beer. You can adjust this directly on the tap using a small screw wheel. However, you should never stop or do the like while dispensing. The tapping process should be a flowing process without interruptions from start to finish. So nothing stands in the way of your beer enjoyment for the summer.
  4. Keep the beer foam as low as possible - this is how you tap correctly
