Inflate the ball without a needle

It's always a nuisance if you want to inflate a ball but don't have a ball pump with a needle on hand. Fortunately, you can also do without it - for example with a bicycle pump.

Ball flat - mostly annoying

If a ball has not been used for a long time or has been used too much, it may well be that it has too little air. Then the desired effect no longer sets in when you shoot or bounce, and when you throw it, it hits the target unsteadily. It is therefore necessary to inflate the foot, hand, volleyball or basketball again before the next match. It's actually very simple: the needle of a ball pump is pushed into the valve and off you go. But not everyone has such a ball pump at home - does that mean you have to forego the match? Fortunately, most of the time this is not the case.

Inflate properly without a needle

  • If you don't have a needle pump, you can conditionally inflate the ball with a bicycle air pump. Press it very firmly on the valve and pump. It is best to try it in pairs - one holds on, the other pumps. This method is only suitable for balls that lack a little air. If they are completely flat, the effort would be too great.
  • If there is a lack of air, you can work with a conventional air pump or a bellows. Attach the thinnest valve you have and insert it into the ball valve as far as possible. Then you pump. Usually this should work.
  • You can get air into the ball faster and with less effort at the gas station. With the help of the compressors that you can use to inflate your tires, you can also give balls more strength. But be careful: Automatic pumps in particular can burst the ball, so don't pump too long.

As you can see, it is easy to inflate a flat ball without a needle. If it's not Sunday, you can ask for a load of air in most sports shops.
