When you exercise, you are sure to be wondering what to eat before you exercise. Milk is healthy and contains many valuable nutrients. Here are some suggestions on whether you should drink milk before exercising and what else you can eat.

You burn calories when you exercise
- Before you start exercising, you should definitely feed your body because you use up calories while exercising.
- Before your training you should replenish your carbohydrate stores. But your body also needs protein and, above all, sufficient fluids.
- The pre-workout meal should be taken approximately an hour before you start your workout.
- Half an hour before exercising, you should drink enough fluids again.
Milk and carbohydrates before exercise
- The meal you eat before exercising should be balanced. Take approx. thirty grams of carbohydrates to yourself. Noodles, oatmeal, rice and potatoes are best suited for this.
- Milk, quark and salmon, for example, are well suited to meet the protein requirements of your body before exercise.
- Fruits and poultry are also good pre-workout foods. When it comes to fruit, you should prefer bananas.
- An ideal meal would be, for example, a large jacket potato with quark, a large glass of milk and a banana.
- A piece of steamed salmon with thirty grams of ribbon noodles and a large glass of apple spritzer would also be suitable.
- Make sure you drink enough fluids before exercising. About half an hour before the start of training, you should take another half a liter of water, apple juice spritzer or unsweetened herbal tea.
- It is better to avoid foods that are high in fat or sugar. Heavy meals put a strain on your body and you would tire too quickly while exercising.
