- The horizontal lines of a tablature are the recorded six guitar strings. The top string is the one with the highest volume, the bottom, the one with the deepest. This is also the thickest string.
- The figures given refer to the respective federal government. A "0" means that you shouldn't grab the string at all. A 1 means you are accessing the first fret; a 5 means you are picking up the 5th Federal government etc.
- It takes a little time to be able to read music fluently. It is best to start by writing your own notes, this is the best exercise.
- Try to write down the notes of a song you know well just by ear or even from memory. Then make a comparison using professional sheet music. This is a good way to identify your weak points and improve your hearing.
