Every employee has the right to rest

  • Every employee has the right to vacation leave. According to the Federal Vacation Act, every employee has at least 24 vacation days per year and thus at least four weeks vacation to.

How to enforce your contiguous vacation

  • Enter your vacation schedule in good time with a consecutive vacation of 12 days. Please note, however, that in most companies a vacation application must also be submitted before the planned vacation date.
  • Submit the application with your legal entitlement to consecutive leave to your employer punctually - preferably around four weeks before the time specified in the holiday schedule.
  • If the employer orders that only one week of consecutive vacation can be requested, you should inform him of his duty of care and the Federal Vacation Act.
  • Inform the works council or ask the union for support if the employer wants to cut up your vacation.
  • If your employer refuses to approve your vacation request for no reason, you can also enforce your rights in court. If necessary, ask a lawyer or the union for assistance if you need legal assistance with enforcement.
