To become a rapper, you should be able to do one thing above all: rap! While some successful rappers seem to have the skills in the cradle, others have to do a lot to acquire the right skills for spoken singing. There may also be rappers who only perform written texts. Still, in the opinion of most rappers, freestyle is the key to finding the right vibe and asserting yourself as a rapper.
- Freestyle is not easy, but with persistent and regular practice, everyone can make progress. The main thing is not to want too much at once and also to be happy about small advances. Otherwise, frustration can quickly ensue and a career as a rapper will be given up prematurely.

How do you get notoriety as a rapper?
- If you have already made progress in freestyle and now have a few texts in stock, you should take every opportunity to appear. You still learn best and fastest on stage.
- The first appearance on stage is a kind of trial by fire for every rapper. However, it's not about having direct success with your styles. It is much more important that you have the courage to present your skills in front of other people.
- Regardless of whether you, as a rapper, use your own name or a stage name: make your name known! Hand out flyers, print on T-shirts and if you already publish CDs or tapes make sure that your name is always immediately visible.
