- You can speed up defrosting by placing dishes with hot water in the fridge or freezer. If you are in a hurry you can use a hair dryer, but especially in summer it is so warm that the refrigerator defrosts quickly even without such tricks.
- When all the ice residue has been peeled off or melted, it is a good idea to clean the refrigerator thoroughly. Don't forget the door seals! After that you should rub everything thoroughly dry with a cloth, otherwise this will result from the humidity quickly a layer of frost again. Now you can plug the refrigerator back in and switch it on.
