The high quality televisions from Sony are of good quality and have very good equipment. This is also regularly reflected in the test reports. Sony has also recognized that television and the Internet are growing closer and closer together. The manufacturer has the newer devices with an Ethernet or WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS-Interface equipped for internet connection.

The television software, which Sony calls 'Smart-HUB', also fits in with this. If you call up the Smart-HUB, you will find many programs for calling up on the Internet. There is also a browser where you can enter the individual address.

Newer devices have an integrated Internet browser. With this you can use the Internet individually and type in Internet pages using the numeric keypad. However, there are some differences to the classic Internet browsers on computers.

Differences and limitations compared to the computer browser

Please note that you have to accept restrictions in operation when surfing on the TV. Smart TVs offer many entertainment features, but they don't come with one computer comparable. For example, you don't have a full-fledged one keyboard. The remote remote control is very cumbersome for typing long Internet addresses.

The browsersoftware also shows you limits. For example, you cannot use FlashVideos on the televisions as they are locked for security reasons. Internet addresses and page contents cannot simply be copied and pasted on the television. Screenshots are also not possible.

Another difference to the browser on the computer is that you cannot send the web pages by e-mail or share them on Facebook. However, you can set bookmarks in the Bravia browser and thus save your favorite pages.
