VIDEO: Bleeding the Saeco coffee machine
The ventilation in coffee machines
Do you have a Saecocoffee machine, you need to bleed it regularly. This will ensure functionality and resolve problems that occur without venting. For example, coffee often no longer flows properly, tastes bitter or has a strange taste. Excess air must be vented even if it is not used for a long time.
Vent the Saeco coffee machine
In the operating instructions for the Saeco coffee machine, you are advised to bleed the device regularly. As a reminder, there is an LED light on the machine that flashes as soon as there is too much air in the machine.
- Turn on the machine. Switch on the coffee machine.
- Check LED light. Check that the right LED light under the vent symbol is on.
- Fill water into the water tank. Make sure there is enough water in the machine's water tank.
- Pour in coffee. Also check that you have filled the coffee chamber with enough powder or bean coffee.
- Place a cup underneath. Now place a cup with a capacity of at least 150 milliliters under the hot water nozzle.
- Turn on hot water. Turn the hot water wheel on the machine.
- Let out water vapor. Now let the hot water run into the cup until only air or steam comes out.
- Turn off hot water. Turn the hot water wheel back again.
- Refill the water tank. Fill the water tank with water again and restart the machine.
- Restart the machine. The LED under the vent symbol should no longer light up. You can brew your coffee as usual.

Tips for caring for the coffee machine
There are different models of Saeco coffee machines, such as Incanto or Philips, all of which should be taken care of. If you have vented the device, thorough cleaning is also recommended. Whether the brewing group, grounds container, housing or outlet coaster - clean the parts regularly to ensure that they function for a long time. Descaling coffee machines is also important.
Saeco has a special descaler for this, which you can get in stores. An all-round care set for the fully automatic coffee machine is also available in stores. Only use products recommended by the manufacturer for descaling and cleaning. You can enjoy the machine and your freshly brewed coffee for a long time.
