DVB-T users can at least perceive a cost advantage over analogue cable reception. Under optimal circumstances, DVB-T means in addition to the best picture and sound quality - apart from the normal TV fees - no further monthly costs. At least the cable connection fee can be saved this way.

Check DVB-T network coverage in your home or location

DVB-T is not only found in Germany. Rather, it is an international standard that is used worldwide from Scandinavia and France to Australia and Spain to Singapore and South Africa. There should be a uniform terrestrial television system in the future, at least in Europe.

  • On the website TV everywhere you will not only find all information about digital television. Here you can also download a DVB-T map of Germany and a list of channels and programs.
  • On the website DVB-T portal an exact availability check is also possible by entering the place and postcode. An existing network coverage does not yet make any statements as to whether you can receive DVB-T TV via an indoor or an outdoor antenna.

"TV everywhere" - optimal reception is not always given

An indoor antenna is sufficient for reception within a core area of a respective DVB-T transmission station, for example Munich or Berlin. In the peripheral areas, a special outdoor or roof antenna is usually necessary for good reception.

No reception with DVB-T - what you can do about it

With DVB-T, television reception should be possible everywhere. However, there are areas in ...

  • Even if the advertising promises DVB-T as “TV everywhere”, that is a bit exaggerated overall. You have successfully checked the availability of DVB-T for your place of residence, but the reception is poor. Causes can include reinforced concrete walls, unfavorable weather conditions and obstacles on the window. In unfavorable reception conditions, blocks can form in the image and movements stop for a few seconds.
  • You can remedy this to a certain extent with a special indoor antenna with an integrated amplifier. If the reception conditions are generally unfavorable, usually only outdoor or roof antennas will help you.

The term "TV everywhere" is still justified if you see the possibilities of receiving DVB-T with a portable television or a notebook. For example, if you are camping or on the move in a location with network coverage, you can watch TV as usual.
