ZDF digital without sound
You can receive the channels ARD and ZDF free of charge digitally (in HD) with a suitable television set and a receiver. If you have a picture without sound on ZDF-Digital, this is not due to the transmitter, but to your settings. If you change these accordingly, you can enjoy the station with sound again.
When you receive the picture with no sound
- The ZDF station can be received not only in analog, but also digitally in HD. In contrast to private channels, you do not have to pay any additional fees for digital reception and you can receive the channel free of charge. The ZDF's digital television programs are very varied and offer you very high picture and sound quality. The broadcaster's offerings include the ZDF Neo, Info and Culture channels. You can also receive the normal ZDF television program digitally.
- While there are usually no problems with the picture, with some televisions it can be a good thing that ZDF digital is received without sound. However, this is not directly due to the transmitter, but in any case to the individual settings. For example, if you have set AC3 or Digital Out as the sound source on your television and the broadcaster does not support these formats, the picture will definitely be without sound. Fortunately, these important settings can be changed again very quickly and you can enjoy ZDF-Digital with sound again.
So you can listen to ZDF-Digital again
- Turn on your TV and pick up the remote control. Find the button that takes you to the main TV menu and press it.
- In the menu, find the Sound Settings submenu and open it.
- Now you need to look for the tone or sound format. If you have a picture without sound with ZDF-Digital, this should be set to AC3 or Digital Out.
- Change the sound settings and choose the normal standard sound format again.
- Save the new settings and exit the TV menu.
