Blanks for the picnic table

The picnic table can comfortably seat six people.

  1. Your complete picnic table is made from impregnated pine wood. Start with the table top consisting of two boards of the same size. Each board is 3 cm thick, 30 cm wide and has a length of 200 cm. These two plates are screwed onto two crossbars. Cut these pieces of wood to a length of 61 cm, a width of 5 cm and a height of 10 cm.
  2. Then come the four legs: each leg is 85 cm long and made of 10 cm x 10 cm square wood. On one side the legs of your picnic table are cut to a 45 degree miter, on the other side you drill an 8 mm hole 5 cm from the edge.
  3. Drill the next hole at 40 cm, measured from the first hole in the legs. So your legs each have 2 holes and a 45-degree miter.
  4. When the legs are ready, come the long cross braces, which serve as reinforcement but also as a support for your seat boards. Cut four pieces 160 cm long, 10 cm wide and 5 cm thick.

  6. Use two 3 cm thick, 200 cm long and 40 cm wide wooden boards as seats. Your picnic table is a combination of seating and table.

Completion of the wooden seat

  • Take the 61 cm crossbars and glue the two table boards on - 20 cm from each side. Then drill and screw the two table boards with the small cross braces.
  • Then drill an 8 mm hole in the middle of the crossbars 10 cm from each side. The legs are then screwed into these holes. Then take the four cross beams and drill two holes in each beam - one at 50 cm and one at 110 cm.
  • Then first screw the legs to the small 61 cm crossbeams and then to the large 61 cm crossbeams. If you've done that, your picnic table will be out wood before you.
  • In the last step you only have to drill the seat boards 20 cm from the edge in the middle with 8 mm and screw them together and the first picnic of the year can start.

You should have someone to help you assemble it.
