To have a homepage spread quickly and easily on Facebook with the "Like" button you first need the code for the plugin and then you need it in the source code of your homepage insert. You can find out how to do this here.

Create code for the like button

If you would like to use the Like button for your homepage, you first need the exact code in order to then insert it into the source code of your homepage.

  1. You can get the code you need on the developer site of Facebook. To do this, start your web browser and open the page for the "I like it"-Button (English: Like button).
  2. Now you can create the like button in the lower part according to your wishes. On the left you have the different options for the button and on the right you can see what the button would look like.
  3. First enter the exact web address in the input field below "URL to Like" at the top the page of your homepage, which are published on Facebook via the Like button should.
  4. The default setting is that a "Send" button is displayed to the right of your Like button. Uncheck the box if you do not want to use this option.

After you have clicked on the "Get Code" link, you can integrate the Like button on your website in just a few steps.

  1. To do this, open the web file in which you want to integrate the button with your editor.
  2. Now go within the body area to the place where you want the button to be.
  3. Now open your web browser again and copy the source code from the "HTML5" tab.
  4. Switch back to your editor and paste the copied source code.
  5. Finally, save the edited web file and upload it to your web server using your FTP program.

When you visit your website now, you can see the like button.
