Create code for the like button

If you would like to use the Like button for your homepage, you first need the exact code in order to then insert it into the source code of your homepage.

1. You can get the code you need on the developer site of Facebook. To do this, start your web browser and open the page for the "I like it"-Button (English: Like button).
2. Now you can create the like button in the lower part according to your wishes. On the left you have the different options for the button and on the right you can see what the button would look like.
3. First enter the exact web address in the input field below "URL to Like" at the top the page of your homepage, which are published on Facebook via the Like button should.

4. The default setting is that a "Send" button is displayed to the right of your Like button. Uncheck the box if you do not want to use this option.

5. With the "Layout Style" setting option, you have three different display options for the Like button. Select either "Standard" for the usual display, "button_count" for displaying the number of people who are already have clicked the like button for this page, or "box_count" for an arrangement one below the other instead of next to one another the end.
6. With "Width" you specify the width of the entire Facebook plug-in, i.e. the button and all other display options. Enter the desired width in pixels there.

8. Finally, you can choose between a light blue color ("light") or Select a black color ("dark") and optionally a desired font for "Font" choose.
9. As soon as you have made all the settings, click on "Get Code" at the bottom. This will give you the source code you need for your website.

After you have clicked on the "Get Code" link, you can integrate the Like button on your website in just a few steps.

1. To do this, open the web file in which you want to integrate the button with your editor.
2. Now go within the body area to the place where you want the button to be.
3. Now open your web browser again and copy the source code from the "HTML5" tab.
4. Switch back to your editor and paste the copied source code.
5. Finally, save the edited web file and upload it to your web server using your FTP program.

When you visit your website now, you can see the like button.
