If you have plywood parts that need a coat of paint then that's not a big problem. With a little preparation and the right color, you should be able to paint the plywood quickly.

What you need:

  • 1 x screw clamp or vice
  • 1 x sandpaper
  • 1 x orbital sander
  • 1 x sanding block
  • 1 x spatula
  • 1 x protective mask
  • 1 x can of wood filler
  • 1 x can of wood protection primer
  • 1 x can of color varnish

  1. Before you can paint your plywood, you should examine the surface for damage. If you have found small holes, you should repair them with wooden filler. Then the filler is sanded in and you can start painting.
  2. First, a layer of wood protection primer is applied. This primer prevents your plywood from being attacked by pests later and then helps the colored lacquer to adhere better. Let the wood protection primer dry properly.
  3. After the primer has dried, you should roughen it again slightly. Then rub the plywood again with a dry cloth and paint the color varnish. Then all you need to do is let the color varnish dry and your plywood is ready.
