Apply self-adhesive photo wallpaper bubble-free
For a long time it was believed that photo wallpapers had long since passed their zenith. Wallpapering walls with pictures of printed wallpaper was only allowed in children's rooms at best. Trends come and go, that's the fashionable way of things. But this also means that some fads experience a revival after a few years. This also applies to photo wallpapers that have made it back into homes and offices around the world for some time. A special feature is the self-adhesive photo wallpaper, which can be attached particularly quickly and easily. A soft cloth, a broom or a felt squeegee are the working tools.
Green landscapes, tropical beaches and skylines of the world's most beautiful metropolises are among the most popular motifs on self-adhesive photo wallpapers. The wallpapered wall becomes the window to another world, at least if the motif wasn't ruined by gluing mistakes. Bumps on the Underground, Wrinkles, unclean transitions and bubbles ruin even the most beautiful motif. You can get around that if at Wallpapering some basic things should be observed.
How to attach a self-adhesive photo wallpaper
- Wallpapering is not a science. With some basic knowledge and practice, you can walls paper with an acceptable result. Self-adhesive wallpapers even make your work a little easier, but if you have photo motifs in the game, you need a little more skill. After all, the transitions from track to track, and thus from image section to image section, must be glued in an absolutely fitting manner. A line drawn perpendicular to the wall can serve as a starting point and orientation.
- Self-adhesive wallpaper is best for smooth, dust-free surfaces. Curvatures in the surface can distort the picture unsightly. Unevenness should therefore be leveled out before wallpapering. If the wall is only plastered, a fleece available from specialist retailers must also be applied. Alternatively, you can prepare the surface with smooth wallpaper.
- Start wallpapering by peeling off the protective film on the back of the self-adhesive wallpaper about 10 cm. You can now place this exposed piece on top of the wall and align it with the orientation line you previously drew. Press the wallpaper gently with the soft woolen cloth and then peel off another piece of protective film.
- You should now be able to see whether the self-adhesive wallpaper is optimally aligned. If this is not the case, you can still correct the error. Then take the felt squeegee or broom and smooth the photo wallpaper from the center outwards. This prevents unsightly bubbles.
- Even with the greatest care, it can happen that a bubble can no longer be struck out. Then a careful cut with the scissors will help. Then press the spot. The resulting damage should no longer be noticeable in the overall picture.
- Once the first lane is applied this way, the hardest part comes. Since the motifs extend over several strips, careful attention must be paid to the transitions when applying each additional strip. Slipped cuts destroy the overall picture and should be avoided if possible.

If you want to dare to use self-adhesive wallpaper for the first time, you can try a wall tattoo that is a little easier to wallpaper. The principle is the same here, but the picture is free in the room and does not necessarily have to be perfectly aligned on the wall.
