Minecraft: undo an update
In Minecraft you create your own landscape. New buildings or promotions are regularly added through updates. You can undo such an update in just a few steps.
With regular updates from Minecraft get new versions and features. Bugs are also fixed in updates. To undo an update, download the previous version. So, to undo the update from Minecraft 1.8, download version 1.7.
Undo update of Minecraft
- Download the older version of Minecraft that was on your before the update computer was installed and save it, for example, on the desktop.
- Open the Minecraft folder by entering "% appdata%" in Windows search and then opening the "Roaming" folder. There is a "minecraft.jar" file. This is the current version, i.e. the update that you can undo in the following step.
- Now select the previously downloaded file (located on your desktop) and drag it into the Minecraft folder. You will be asked whether the file should be moved and replaced or not. Choose Move and Replace. Thus, the update is replaced by an older version and reversed at the same time.
- Now you can start the game as usual and, if necessary, carry out the update at a later point in time.
