The Federal Network Agency's database shows you the UMTS transmission masts

Since 2004, German citizens have been able to obtain information via the Internet about which mobile radio stations are located at a desired address. The UMTS transmission masts and other stationary radio systems can be found on a map on the website of Federal Network Agency.

Simply click on the card at the top right of the page to open the EMF database. Enter a desired postal address at the top left and click on "search". The system then selects the relevant map section. All available database contents are loaded automatically.

The contents of the database are retained even if you use the zoom function of a map section. If you move the respective map section, the data will be reloaded quickly. Click on the small warning triangle to see more information.

The information field shows the installation height above ground (m), the main beam direction (HSR) in degrees, the safety distance in HSR (m) and the vertical safety distance. You can easily switch between the information field and the map field.

Which the card doesn't answer

UMTS antennas and other radio systems are not only of interest to users of mobile communications and the Internet. Concerned citizens also want to know what radiation they are exposed to due to the operation of the transmission tower.

Internet stick - improve reception

Portable internet comes in handy when it works. In the country is ...

You can find out the approximate location from the EMF database, but not the exact UMTS transmission power from the transmission mast. The more a transmitter delivers, the higher the safety distance. After all, you will see an exact meter reading in the information field.

On the UMTS antenna map from the Federal Network Agency, you cannot see which radio system is involved (GSM, UMTS, authority radio). All mobile radio technologies (GSM 900, GSM 1800, UMTS) are summarized under the term mobile radio. If you find a transmitter mast by entering the address, you will not find out who is the operator of the transmitter (T-Mobile, E-plus, Vodafone, O2) and therefore your contact person.

For example, if your address is in a rural area, you may not see any UMTS transmission masts or stationary radio systems on the map. If this is the case with you, then things are not looking particularly good with the mobile and fast Internet.
