The most common way - a guarantor is needed

  • You have to live on something, buy something to eat. Whoever your "financier" is - they may be willing to accept a notice of assignment from you to the landlord. If the landlord does not get his money, he can contact your financier directly.
  • With younger people it is common for parents to have the rental contract with sign. In this way, the landlord can still contact the parents if you have the rent would no longer pay.
  • Finally, you can ask someone else to rent an apartment for you. Because the tenant does not necessarily have to live in the apartment. However, he still has all the obligations that result from the rental agreement.

Rent without income - you can work too

  • There are many employment relationships that are linked to accommodation - for example on farms, in hotels or during assembly work. In this way you can get a place to live and work at the same time.
  • Apartments are also made available in many cases by the Federal Volunteer Service. There is no age limit for the Federal Voluntary Service. In principle, anyone can do this.
  • Rent an apartment - you need these requirements

Nowadays, not everyone can rent an apartment without any problems. You need some ...

  • Some landlords also need caretakers for their apartment buildings. It happens that rent-free living can be negotiated in return for caretaker services.
  • Be on the lookout for chronically vacant apartments: Here the landlord may be willing to rent to people with no income of their own.

Living in apartments with several people

  • Just because several people live in one apartment does not mean that they all have to sign a rental agreement. With shared apartments in particular, it is easier to get a room and pay the rent directly to the roommate and not to the landlord. You don't necessarily have to rent the room yourself. But be careful: the landlord has to agree that you live there.
  • Even in a couple relationship, it is not always necessary for both partners to sign the rental agreement. Here you can also let your partner - who has the appropriate income - sign a rental agreement on his own.
